A Filipina-American in American Idol Season XIV Top 48

Yep, American Idol is so back. And for all those addicted to AI like me... Here's a spoiler...

A lot of websites have released spoilers for the Top 48. Based on this spoiler, one Filipino-American made it to the list this year—Monica Laire Pidoy Mendoza.

Monica Laire Pidoy Mendoza (born on May 19, 1997) is currently going to Arroyo High School. She can sing, play the guitar, and can also dance. She has also won the following awarrds: (i) 2010 Hayward Idol; (ii) Livermore's Got Talent; and  (iii) KBLX 102.9 GRAND CHAMPION. A lot of people are saying that we might have the second coming of Jessica Sanchez in American Idol. You can catch a glimpse of her singing videos HERE.

3 Filipino-Americans in American Idol Season 12 Top 40

Yep, American Idol is so back. And for all those addicted to AI like me... Here's a spoiler...

A lot of websites have released spoilers for the Top 40. Based on this spoiler, three Filipino-Americans made it to the list—Bryant Tadeo, Adriana Latonio and Jett Hermano.

Bryant Tadeo is from Hawaii and a second-timer in American Idol. He auditioned last year (AI Season 11) and made it to the Hollywood rounds. Meanwhile, this will be the first time for young diva Adriana Latonio, who at this early has been compared to Jessica Sanchez, another half-Filipino who emerged as the American Idol 2012 runner-up. Bridget "Jett" Hermano, on the other hand is born and raised in Seattle, Washington and reportedly the 1st "Asian American Idol" in the Fil-Am community of Seattle.

Will these three capture the hearts of the judges and eventually make it to American Idol 2013 Top 24? Let's find out if all these rumors and speculations are true this January on American Idol Season 12.

IDOL Finale: Jessica-Philip Match

Finale week of American Idol has finally arrived – but there's one more fight to go for the final two before the country chooses its next Idol winner. 

In one corner, you have Jessica Sanchez, who host Ryan Seacrest called a "16-year-old powerhouse." In the other, you have Phillip Phillips, a crooning pawnshop worker from Leesburg, Ga. Both faced off Tuesday by performing three songs each: show creator Simon Fuller chose round one, Phillips and Sanchez selected their favorite song from the season for round two, and in the final round, both picked the song that will become the winning single as the next American Idol.

AI top 3 results: America, this is your Top 2!

Naturally, we don't get any results during the "American Idol" results show until the last few minutes. Instead, we have to sit through a rather scary performance from Elvira Lisa Marie Presley. Adam Lambert is also in the house, which is fun. He's a great performer.

The "American Idol" Top 4 results show was even more filler than usual, since nobody is put into a Bottom 3, since that would reveal who gets the most votes (though we suspect it's been Phillip for awhile now).

‘American Idol’ Top 5 Results: Skylar’s The Limit

"This is your bottom two, America!" as Ryan Seacrest would always say.

This week was British Week on "American Idol," and maybe that gave Liverpool-born contestant Hollie Cavanagh some sort of small advantage. Hollie was in the bottom two on this Thursday's top five results show, for the umpteenth time, but in the end, she managed to scrape by yet again. Instead, shockingly, it was all-American girl Skylar Laine who quite undeservedly went home in fifth place.
