8:02 p.m. The two-hour telecast kicks off with season 11's all-star also-rans includingHollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon and Deandre "Second Coming of Milli Vanilli" Brackensick. They're performing a group number of a song I don't know, they're wearing all white, and it's all very Glee and thinly rehearsed ... and there's a random dance troupe. Clearly, Nigel Lythgoe is trying to court theDancing With the Stars demo.

IDOL Finale: Jessica-Philip Match

Finale week of American Idol has finally arrived – but there's one more fight to go for the final two before the country chooses its next Idol winner. 

In one corner, you have Jessica Sanchez, who host Ryan Seacrest called a "16-year-old powerhouse." In the other, you have Phillip Phillips, a crooning pawnshop worker from Leesburg, Ga. Both faced off Tuesday by performing three songs each: show creator Simon Fuller chose round one, Phillips and Sanchez selected their favorite song from the season for round two, and in the final round, both picked the song that will become the winning single as the next American Idol.

Naturally, we don't get any results during the "American Idol" results show until the last few minutes. Instead, we have to sit through a rather scary performance from Elvira Lisa Marie Presley. Adam Lambert is also in the house, which is fun. He's a great performer.

'American Idol' Top 4 results: Hollie or Phillip, who's in Top 3?

The "American Idol" Top 4 results show was even more filler than usual, since nobody is put into a Bottom 3, since that would reveal who gets the most votes (though we suspect it's been Phillip for awhile now).
