Saturday Surprise: Gay Kissing Scene in 'Penny Dreadful'

In one episode of 'Penny Dreadful', Dorian Gray (played by Reeve Carney) treats Ethan Chandler’s (played by Josh Hartnett) wounds and plies him with absinthe and played the “Tristan und Isolde” Wagnerian opera. It’s the only music that still excites Dorian, specifically the “Liebestod” aria with its theme of erotic love and death.

Overwhelmed by alcohol and horrific memories, Ethan unexpectedly grabs Dorian and kisses him hard on the mouth — swapping a tuberculosis-ridden and terminally ill lover Brona Croft (Billie Piper) for one untouched by time.

Saturday Surprise: Josh Hartnett is frequently b*tt-naked in 'Penny Dreadful'

Josh Hartnett has worked in TV before. Sure, you probably know the actor from such blockbusters as "Blackhawk Down" and "Sin City" or cult favorites like "The Virgin Suicides" and "The Faculty," but the Minnesota native also starred in 16 episodes of ABC's series "Cracker: Mind Over Murder" from 1997-1998. While it wasn't quite his breakout role, Hartnett is hoping for a longer run when he returns to the now very different medium in Showtime's "Penny Dreadful."

"Penny Dreadful" is a dark horror story from writer/creator John Logan and executive producer Sam Mendes. The psychological thriller series set in Victorian London, weaves together several classic horror stories: Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Grey and figures from Dracula. 

To keep the ratings up, Josh Hartnett (playing Ethan Chandler in the series) has been showing his glorious ass almost every episode. So if you have not seen "Penny Dreadful" yet, I suggest you watch the series every Sunday at 10PM ET/PT.
