Why Mark Mabasa, #XFactorPH ?!

Darn!! Why do you let good artists go??

I just don't understand it !!!

Cheryl Cole, a former judge on the UK version of The X Factor, The Xtra Factor, on its 23 November 2009 episode described the title  "X Factor" to refer to the undefinable "something" that makes for star quality.

I agree... UNDEFINABLE "SOMETHING" is what we are looking for from the XFactor Contestants be it in the UK or in the Philippines.

But what really is that "something". I will put it this way:
  1. Whenever you see someone perform and you are suddenly placed in an environment different from where you are at that precise moment.
  2. Whenever you feel what the artist is trying to convey at his/her performance
  3. Whenever you utter the words, "He IS good!" right after the performance
  4. Whenever people makes a fuss about the contestant throughout and after the show
These are just some indications that the performer/contestant in the XFactor has THAT XFACTOR. Now, why am I blogging this??? You have to first watch the videos you will find after break.

This is Mark Mabasa, a former XFactorPH contestant. After watching everything... Tell me this guy doesn't have it!!???! HE DOES!!! Obviously, he does have the "XFactor". Now, I'm asking again, why are you letting good artists like him go.

To the judges, please be critical in your comments. Those who don't have it, tell them that they should improve. The reason why you have the power to save one from the bottom two is because the XFactor  Int'l knows that you critically know who should be voted off. Don't act like you can't because you definitely can that's why you are part of the panel.

To the voters, please use your vote wisely. This is not a circus. Mediocre performance deserves to be sent home not like this guy. If you want to vote for a circus act of some sort, then watch Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) not the XFactor.

Let's not forget that XFactor produced some of the best artists we have now --- One Direction, Leona Lewis, and Shayne Ward, to name a few. Let us not ruin the dreams of those who definitely have what it takes to make it big in the future.

I agree with Ms. Pilita Corales that this (referring to XFactor) is not the end for Mark. With a voice like that, more doors will eventually open for him. But, I'm still disappointed that XFactorPH could not be that door because obviously it has shut its doors for him after being eliminated last August 12, 2012 results show.

Here's an interesting article for you to read. It's about the comments about Mark's elimination.

Fans Protest Mark Mabasa's Exit

MANILA, Philippines - "X Factor Philippines" contestant Mark Mabasa became a trending topic on Twitter locally right after he was voted off the show on Sunday.

Apparently, many netizens believe that Mabasa should've stayed in the contest.

"I feel so bad that Mark Mabasa has to struggle hard to show his vocal prowess, while others can get away w/ circus acts," said one.

"With the early elimination of @markmabasa at X-Factor Philippines last night, not going to watch the show anymore! :) I mean it!" said another.

"I was brokenhearted this morning.. Tapos pag check ko sa google ikaw na out..para akong sinaksak ng dalawang beses @markmabasa," posted another.

"ibalik si @markmabasa #xfactorph!" added yet another obviously disappointed fan.

A deadlock factored in on Mabasa's eventual elimination from the contest after he and vocal group, Take Off, received the lowest number of votes for the week.

To further advance, Mabasa had to perform James Ingram's "There's No Easy Way" while Take Off did a version of Secondhand Serenade's "Fall For You."

Judges Martin Nievera and Pilita Corrales, impressed with Mabasa's performance, both voted to take out Take Off. But Groups mentor Gary Valenciano wanted to protect his own and voted for the ouster of Mabasa. Charice Pempengco, on the other hand, opted for Mabasa.

Under "X Factor" rules, if the 4 judges' votes are deadlocked, the contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated. This led to Mabasa's eventual downfall as he received only 3.72% of the votes compared to Take Off's 3.90%.

As if readying themselves for the backlash, Take Off posted the following statement in their Twitter account upon announcement of last night's results.

"Please don't hate us. Mark Mabasa and Takeoff just didn't get enough votes. All of the #XFactorPH finalists are excellent and deserving. ♥♥♥"

Valenciano also explained his decision via Twitter saying, "I simply stood by my team. It boiled down to who ppl voted 4. I spoke to @markmabasa after the show. Told him I know God has gud plans 4 him."

Mabasa as with Pempengco are mum on the matter as of this writing.

Continuing with their fight on "X Factor Philippines" are Modesto Taran and Joan Da in the Over 25 category;  Take-Off, Daddy's Home and AKA Jam in the Group category; Jeric Medina, Gabriel Maturan, and Kedebon Colim in the Boys category; KZ Tandingan and Allen Jane Sta. Maria in the Girls category.

On a lighter side, after seeing his performances and also after being influenced by my Mom who loves him so much (FYI: My Mom even cried when Mark was voted off), I opted to follow Mark Mabasa in twitter and he is soooooooooooooooooo down to earth. He really knows how to treat his fans/supporters well. And after telling him that I'm thinking of blogging about him, he generously gave me some pics for us to enjoy, so I'm sharing it. Thank you, Mark.
